Das Schiff wurde im Jahr 1846 von der Werft “Motala Verkstads” in Norrköping an die Gesellschaft geliefert. Der erste Kapitän des Schiffes war André Oscar Wallenberg, der spätere Gründer des Bankhauses “Stockholms Enskilda Bank”.
