Den Betrieb führte bis 1945/46 die Kleinbahnabteilung des Provinzialverbandes Sachsen in Merseburg. Dann ging die Bahn über auf die Sächsischen Provinzbahnen GmbH und am 1.4.1949 auf die Deutsche Reichsbahn.
