Dieser Versuch, mit der Marke „Blue Bird“ auch im Serien-Automobilgeschäft Fuß zu fassen, scheiterte jedoch an Finanzierungsproblemen. Campbell selbst aber eilte von einem Erfolg zum nächsten: Mit dem Campbell-Railton Blue Bird, einer 8,22 m langen und trotz Aluminium-Konstruktion 4,75 t schweren Rennmaschine, deren Rolls-Royce-Motor aus 36,5 l Hubraum 2.500 PS Leistung brachte, stellte Campbell am 3.9.1935 auf den Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah mit 484,6 km/h einen neuen Landgeschwindigkeitsrekord auf. | | Specials: | Sehr dekorativ mit Abb. eines voll besetzten Automobils auf den Schwingen eines Vogels. | | Availability: | Unentwertet.
