Nur 50 Meilen (von Rome bis Attalla, Ala.) waren bis zum Konkurs schon im Jahr 1887 vollendet. 1890 erwarb die East Tennessee, Virginia & Georgia Ry. die Bahn, die ihrerseits 1894 Teil der Southern Ry. wurde.
